Eyelash Extension Glue, Eyelash Extension Supplies – Sky Glue

Eyelash Extension Glue, Eyelash Extension Supplies – Sky Glue

I grew up with three different sisters and was awestruck when they put on make-up and got spruced up to go out for the night. When they were gone I would take their eye shadow and lipstick to play spruce up and imagining I was dressing to appreciate the night life. Thinking back, I know they wouldn't have been elated knowing I was getting their make-up and endeavoring to appear as though them.

Nowadays I buy my own particular mascara, eye shadow and lipstick and additionally whatever else I need in the corrective range. My eyes were sufficiently brilliant however my eyelashes needed length and volume, mascara wouldn't support them so I began perusing on the web to peruse about eyelash augmentations to influence my eyes to look attractive and full. When I found out about Eyelash Extension Glue I knew it was the answer for me.

I reached a firm on the internet and orchestrated an arrangement for a discussion. I didn't understand that the eyelash expansions were put separately on the present eyelashes and couldn't exactly make sense of how they would stick yet in the wake of talking the style over, everything seemed well and good. The augmentations can run from a characteristic recovered look to more outlandish or even shaded lashes with gems incorporated in with the new lashes.

https://sky-glue.com/products/lady-black-glue

My visit to the expert consultant was extremely consoling, she instructed me with respect to the best length and twist which would suit the state of my eyesPsychology Articles, so I noticed her info. After around 90 minutes my new eyelashes were set up and when I opened my eyes I just couldn't trust it was me. My eyes looked great and truly normal however exciting.

I was educated a couple of the new lashes may drop out in the primary day or somewhere in the vicinity while the glue set and touch-ups were prescribed each half a month. I could even now wear make-up however it must be sans oil in light of the fact that any sort of oil would hurt the cement. I didn't have to utilize mascara however it was conceivable to wear it on the tips of the lashes.

The specialist prompted me to forgo and remain away direct contact with water for the principal day yet once the paste had set it was legitimately okay for me to swim or scrub down. Eyelash stylers surely must be kept away from on the grounds that they would wrinkle or split the eyelash expansion. Presently when I spruce up and go out individuals regularly do a twofold take and my certainty has soar with the way I look. Another aftereffect of this is more offers than any time in recent memory from young fellows requesting that I move and gathering.

10 million Android devices

Chinese cyber criminals have managed to infect a whopping 10 million Android devices worldwide with malware that creates phony ad revenue for an Asian ad firm, according to a new report.

The malware, called “Hummingbad,” has been lurking in some Google devices for the past few months, but a new report by cyber security solutions provider Check Point found that the global infection is far worse than previously believed.

“The investigation uncovered critical insights on how attackers conduct mobile malware campaigns,” reads the report, called “Hummingbad to Worse.”

The report found that the malware installs fraudulent apps that create $300,000 annually in ad revenue for Yingmob, a Beijing-based firm which runs a legitimate ad and tracking business alongside its illegal operations, TechnoBuffallo reported.

Another Tesla crashes and Autopilot is blamed again

DETROIT — A Southfield, Mich., art gallery owner told police his 2016 Tesla Model X was in Autopilot mode when it crashed and rolled over on the Pennsylvania Turnpike last week.

The crash came just one day after the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration issued a report on a fatal crash in May involving a Tesla that was also in self-driving mode.

Albert Scaglione and his artist son-in-law, Tim Yanke, both survived Thursday's crash near the Bedford exit, about 107 miles east of Pittsburgh.

The Detroit Free Press was not able to reach Scaglione, owner of Park West Gallery, or Yanke, but Dale Vukovich of the Pennsylvania State Police, who responded to the crash, said Scaglione told him that he had activated the Autopilot feature.

Fatal autopilot crash magnifies Tesla production problems

In his crash report, Vukovich stated that Scaglione's car was traveling east near mile marker 160, about 5 p.m. when it hit a guardrail "off the right side of the roadway. It then crossed over the eastbound lanes and hit the concrete median."

After that, the Tesla Model X rolled onto its roof and came to rest in the middle eastbound lane. A 2013 Infiniti G37 driven in the westbound lane by Thomas Hess of West Chester, Penn.., was struck by debris from the Scaglione car, but neither he nor his passenger was hurt.

Vukovich said he likely will cite Scaglione after he completes his investigation, but he declined to specify the charge.

The Pennsylvania Turnpike has narrow shoulders and concrete medians that leave little margin for driver error. There's not enough evidence, for the moment, to indicate that Tesla's Autopilot malfunctioned.

Last Wednesday, NHTSA announced it is investigating the design and performance of the Autopilot system after a  40-year-old Canton, Ohio, man died May 7 in Florida when his 2015 Tesla Model S hit a tractor-trailer while in self-driving mode. The federal agency said both the driver and the Autopilot system failed to detect the large tractor-trailer making a left turn in front of him.

But the driver of the truck said there was a Harry Potter video still running when the Tesla came to a stop about a quarter-mile from the impact.

Is any cookie dough safe to eat?

Don't worry, America, the government's kibosh on raw cookie dough isn't as gut-wrenching as it seems.

We've long been told that cookie dough is bad for us due to the presence of raw eggs and the risk of contracting salmonella. That's likely why your mom swatted your hand away from the mixing bowl growing up (but you went back to sneak some into your mouth anyway).

Now the U.S. Food and Drug Administration says cookie dough is a don't because of raw flour, too, which can contain E. Coli, a major bummer of a bacteria that leads to some seriously unpleasant symptoms and can even lead to kidney failure. Yikes.

But, for the sake of cookie dough lovers everywhere, surely there has to be a workaround to this problem. It turns out, there is.

You may have noticed a crop of edible cookie dough companies opening online shops or stocking grocery store shelves in recent years. They often market their products as safe because they don't contain raw eggs.

The bonus is that some of these raw doughs are also made with heat-treated flour, a process that kills bacteria in raw flour.

"I wouldn’t trust any cookie dough that doesn’t" use heat-treated flour, says Rana Lustyan, founder of Edoughble, a ready-to-eat cookie dough company. "It’s not worth the risk."

Don't assume gluten-free doughs are any safer. As Lustyan points out, rice flour or chickpea flour are still made from crops that come out of the ground and aren't meant to be eaten raw. She's launching a vegan and gluten-free dough in the fall that relies on heat-treated oat flour.

Lustyan sources flour from Siemer Milling Company, a grain processor based in Teutopolis, Ill. Heat-treated flour is also what makes cookie dough found in ice cream or candy safe to eat, says Sunil Maheshwari, vice president of Siemer Specialty Ingredients.

"That's the only way you can get rid of the microbes in a wheat flour," he says.

Heat-treated bags of flour aren't typically available in your average grocery store. Their moisture content can affect the baking process, which kills off any bacteria.

The Cookie Dough Cafe, which sells jarred edible cookie dough in flavors like chocolate chip and cookies and cream, and DO in New York also both rely on flour that goes through a heating pasteurization process. Even Nestle Toll House switched to using heat-treated flour for its refrigerated cookie dough in 2010, after a recall of the dough in 2009 was found to be linked to flour.

Pillsbury refrigerated cookie doughs include heated flour, but the brand still recommends customers stay away from eating it raw.

"We advise against consuming raw dough or batter," says Mike Siemienas, a spokesman for General Mills, which owns Pillsbury refrigerated and frozen products. "We want to make sure, for our doughs, that you're cooking them properly."

Lindsay Larner, founder of The Cookie Jar D.C., uses flours customers can find in the grocery store. But she says she's had zero safety issues since launching her business in February.

So proceed with caution, but know that you can still lick that spoon if you're careful.

S&P 500 shakes off Brexit to 1.9% 2nd-quarter gain

The U.S. stock market kicked off the final day of a turbulent second quarter with big gains for a third straight session, as investors continued to downgrade the fallout of the Brexit vote.

At the 4 p.m. ET close, the S&P 500 stood was up 1.4% higher. The Dow Jones industrial average, which had posted its best back-to-back point gains since last August following the Brexit-driven sell-off Friday and Monday, gained another 235 points, or 1.3%. The Nasdaq composite gained 1.3%.

Stock market gains picked up after Bank of England governor Mark Carney said the central bank would likely have to inject fresh stimulus this summer to offset the downside economic risks of the Brexit vote.

Wall Street was also looking beyond Brexit, and began shifting its focus to key coming events stateside, such as the June employment report next week and the start of the quarterly corporate earnings season.

It has been a wild finish to the April-thru-June quarter. The Standard & Poor's 500 stock index entered the final day of the second quarter clinging to a quarterly gain of 0.5%. Wall Street and global markets were rocked last Thursday when Britain voted to leave the European Union, a surprise outcome that resulted in a spike in investor fear and a stock market sell-off that resulted in the worst two-day paper loss for global stock markets stocks ever. For the year so far, the large-company stock gauge is up 1.3%

Wall Street extended its Brexit rebound rally to a third day.

The fear level of investors has come down sharply as financial markets around the globe have stabilized in recent days.

"The calm continues (as stocks) ... are in the process of consolidating their post-panic relief gains," David Rosenberg, chief economist and strategist at Gluskin Sheff noted via e-mail.

Still, uncertainty still abounds in global markets given the still high level of political and economic risks in the U.K. and Europe following the Brexit vote last week. Political confusion continued in Britain Thursday after ex-London Mayor Boris Johnson, a backer of the "leave" campaign in last week's Brexit vote said he would not seek the Prime Minister's job.

Market stability was visible again in the United Kingdom and Europe Thursday. The FSTE 100 stock index in London was 2.3% higher. The British pound, which had been pounded to a 31-year low vs. the U.S. dollar, was trading down about 1%.

The broad Stoxx Europe 600 index gained 1%.

Oil prices were falling. U.S. produced-crude was down almost 2% to $49.01 per barrel.

Coming to Facebook: Personal fundraisers

SAN FRANCISCO — Coming soon to your Facebook News Feed: friend-raising.

Starting Thursday, some Facebook users in the United States will be able to create campaigns to raise money for personal causes from their friends. They can share their personal story and set a fundraising goal on dedicated pages so that friends can donate to 501 (c)(3) non-profits in a few taps or clicks without leaving Facebook.

Facebook, which began allowing non-profits to raise money on the giant social network late last year, has signed up some 50 non-profits and will continue to enroll more.

The initiative comes from the "Social Good" team run by early Facebook employee Naomi Gleit. Gleit says Facebook noticed that people were raising money on Facebook for causes they care about, from breast cancer walks to climate change and wanted to make it easier.

"The inspiration for this is that it was already happening on Facebook," says Gleit, Facebook's vice president of product management for social good.

For years the promise of harvesting donations on social media has dangled out of reach, lagging direct mail, events and other more traditional ways of soliciting donations. Three-quarters of visitors to charity websites came via a search query or by typing in the URL, with only 3% hailing from social media, according to Adobe Digital Index.

In 2007, Internet entrepreneur Joe Green and Facebook billionaire Sean Parker created a Facebook app called Causes. Their theory: People are more likely to donate money to help a cause that is important to someone close to them. Friends who respond to that social pressure receive something in return: social recognition.

Yet charitable giving on Facebook ran into challenges. By and large, people swiping through their News Feed were not so easily lured away from Facebook to donate on a non-profit's web site.

What is emerging as a potentially powerful force: peer-to-peer fundraising, appeals for small sums directly from friends.

One notable success hints at the potential for this type of fundraising on Facebook: the 2014 Ice Bucket Challenge in which friends and celebrities dumped buckets of ice water to raise $115 million for ALS research. In fact, that campaign so successful that The ALS Association, convinced it could have raised even more money directly on Facebook, asked Facebook for the ability to do so.

In testing personal fundraising campaigns on Facebook, Gleit says Facebook learned that friends are moved to open up their wallets by personal stories and photos.

"Giving is really personal. It's one thing for American Red Cross to raise money for American Red Cross. It's another for a friend to raise money on behalf of American Red Cross," Gleit says. "We tend to give to people that we care about."

With the fundraising campaigns, Facebook users can make their appeal on Facebook, Facebook Messenger and by email. Each time someone donates to the campaign, they are prompted to share the campaign and invite friends. Shares and re-shares also contain the "donate" button.

Initially, 1% of U.S. users will be able to create the fundraising campaigns and people in 39 countries can donate to them. In coming weeks the tools will roll out to all U.S. Facebook users, Gleit says.

Any U.S.-based nonprofit that has 501 (c) (3), status a verified Facebook page and agrees to the Facebook Pages Terms can sign up for the program. Not all of the funds raised go to the non-profits. Two percent will cover the cost of running the service, such as vetting non-profits and protecting against fraud, 3% will go to payment processing. Among the nonprofits taking part are The Nature Conservancy, Alzheimer's Association, Girls Prep Campaign and Oxfam.

Mason Weintraub, director of digital engagement with Oxfam America, says she's excited but maintains some "healthy skepticism."

"It's early days but I think there is a lot of potential," Weintraub says.

Oxfam has worked with peer-to-peer fundraising services for several years and seen promise.

"The exciting part about Facebook is that 1.6 billion people are already using it. Having that built-in network and having people with their own personal networks on there should help expose more people to Oxfam's mission just because of the ease and the reach. We will be meeting audiences where they are," Weintraub says.

To mark the launch, Ken Mallette, who has traveled to Senegal, Cuba and Ecuador to see first-hand how his non-profit helps people overcome poverty, hunger and injustice, has set up a personal fundraising page for his 30th anniversary with Oxfam.

"Thirty years ago, I joined up with Oxfam America to attract support for their vitally important work helping people overcome poverty, hunger, and injustice," he wrote. "I’m still as committed as ever to this work and today I’m inviting you to join me."

Walmart takes aim at Amazon with free shipping offer

Walmart is taking direct aim at Amazon when it comes to free shipping.

The retailing giant announced Wednesday that it is going to offer a free 30-day trial of its ShippingPass, good for unlimited two-day shipping. After the trial period, the price is $49 a year.

The program is similar to Amazon Prime, which also offers two-day shipping with a 30-day free trial period. Amazon Prime costs more -- $10.99 a month -- but also offers extras like movie, TV show and music downloads.

In announcing the program, Walmart officials indicated they believe that the free trial will drive incremental sales.

"Once you start using it, it’s hard not to notice the everyday low prices on the stuff you need and want," says Fernando Madeira, CEO of Walmart's U.S. division, in a statement.

While the move shows Walmart is getting serious about the threat posed by Amazon, some wonder if it can compete as effectively when it comes to online orders and delivery.

“I don’t think they have any choice,”  says Scott Galloway, chairman of digital marketing and tracking firm L2. Walmart “has to respond to the most valuable retailer in the world, which is now Amazon.”

This year Amazon's Prime Day is July 12

SEATTLE — Shoppers get ready to click: Amazon's second annual Prime Day sale will launch at midnight Seattle time on July 12.

The Seattle online retailer created the shopping holiday for its Prime customers last year as something of a half-birthday for Christmas. It succeeded beyond Amazon's wildest dreams.

On 2015 Prime Day customers ordered 34.4 million items worldwide, breaking its Black Friday records. It was launched on July 15 and marked the online retailer's 20th anniversary. And is open only to Prime members.

At the time, Prime Day drew some negative comments with its wide and seemingly random offering of deals, causing some critics to say merchants were using it to clear out unsold inventory.

However Amazon sees it as more an eclectic, something-for-everyone sales event, said Amazon Prime vice president Greg Greeley.

"A certain deal that might seem weird to one customer might seem wonderful to another. That's part of the fun of Prime Day — discovering these unique items," he said.

This year's Prime Day will feature a run-up of five days of pre-Prime Day sales, each day offering a few deals to get customers primed (so to speak) for Prime Day.

Amazon says it will launch new deals as often as every five minutes over the 24 hours of the sale.

It will be available to new and existing members in the United States, the United Kingdom, Spain, Japan, Italy, Germany, France, Canada, Belgium, and Austria.

Prime important for Amazon

Prime members are important to the company's bottom line because they're highly lucrative. They spend on average about $1,100 per year, compared to about $600 per year for non-members, according to Consumer Intelligence Research Partners.

CEO Jeff Bezos said in the company's annual letter this year that he wants to make it indispensable.

"We want Prime to be such a good value, you’d be irresponsible not to be a member," Bezos wrote.

While Amazon doesn't release figures on Prime memberships, CIRP estimates that about one in five adult Americans has an Amazon Prime membership  at the end of 2015, about 54 million Prime members in the United States.

That’s 21% of the U.S. adult population of 246 million, meaning close to half of U.S. household, 46%, have a Prime membership.

Competitors stepping up

In response, Walmart president and CEO Fernando Madeira announced in a blog post Wednesday that the company will offer a free 30-day trial for ShippingPass, its competition with Prime. ShippingPass costs $49 a year and offers Walmart customers free, unlimited two-day shipping. Walmart customers who already have ShippingPass will get an extra month free.

Walmart said it will begin offering special deals July 1. In a dig at Amazon's one-day sale, Madeira noted that Walmart's sales "typically last 90 days or longer while supplies last," and that its shipping program is about "half the price of similar programs out there."

Microsoft's Nadella says 'A.I. must guard against bias'

Satya Nadella is a believer in the vast promise of artificial intelligence. But the Microsoft CEO says humans and machines need to work together to solve the world’s great societal challenges, including issues of diversity and inequality.

And responsibility is in the hands of the designers.

“Ultimately, it’s not going to be about human vs. machine,” Nadella wrote in a piece on Slate later reposted to LinkedIn, the professional networking service Microsoft is buying. “We humans have creativity, empathy, emotion, physicality, and insight that can then be mixed with powerful A.I. computation—the ability to reason over large amounts of data and do pattern recognition more quickly—to help move society forward.”

Nadella’s remarks come as the booming but still relatively nascent AI field confronts instances of gender and race bias in computer programs, from chat bots to search engines to photo apps. Ugly examples (Microsoft's own chatbot engaging in racial slurs, for instance) have served as a reminder that these algorithms reflect the views, biases and experiences of their creators.  And unless the industry shakes up its programming ranks, those may largely consist of highly paid white men.

Consider the recent headlines: “Artificial Intelligence Has a `Sea of Dudes’ problem declared Bloomberg, which questioned what happens when most of the computer scientists working in the AI field are male.

The New York Times chimed in with “A.I’s Grasp of Diversity May Begin With Who Builds It,” which followed a Sunday Times opinion piece, “Artificial Intelligence’s White Guy Problem.” It was written by a Microsoft principal researcher Kate Crawford, who is also co-chairwoman of a White House symposium on society and A.I.

For years, critics have been flagging racial bias in search results. Most recently, an 18-year old Virginia high school senior compared a Google image search for “three black teenagers” to a search for “three white teenagers.” The results were troubling: the black teen query turned up police mugshots; the white teen search yielded groups of smiling teens.

As that student Kabir Ali told USA TODAY: "I had actually heard about this search from one of my friends and just wanted to see everything for myself. I didn't think it would actually be true. When I saw the results I was nothing short of shocked."

Google says the results only magnified biases that were already prevalent. In a statement released at the time to USA TODAY, Google said that “sometimes unpleasant portrayals of sensitive subject matter online can affect what image search results appear for a given query. These results don’t reflect Google’s own opinions or beliefs — as a company, we strongly value a diversity of perspectives, ideas and cultures."

Microsoft had to apologize back in March, for “unintended offensive and hurtful tweets” spewed by its nascent A.I. chatbot Tay.

Some who study the topic say tech companies, the creators of these programs, can't hide behind the defense that it's the users rather than the objective piece of coding that's at fault.

"We have to ask ourselves: If Google is not responsible for its algorithm, who is?" said UCLA information studies and African American studies professor Safiya Umoja Noble.

In today’s Slate post, Nadella pushed on the idea that the humans behind the machine are ultimately responsible for what happens next.

“All of the technology we build must be inclusive and respectful to everyone…. A.I. must maximize efficiencies without destroying the dignity of people: It should preserve cultural commitments, empowering diversity.

We need broader, deeper, and more diverse engagement of populations in the design of these systems… A.I. must have algorithmic accountability so that humans can undo unintended harm. We must design these technologies for the expected and the unexpected. A.I. must guard against bias, ensuring proper, and representative research so that the wrong heuristics cannot be used to discriminate.”

U.S. may screen foreign travelers' Facebook, Twitter accounts

SAN FRANCISCO — The government’s next plan to curb terrorism involves snooping around the Facebook profiles of foreign travelers.

Non-citizens traveling to the U.S. on a visa waiver could be asked about their online presence and social media profiles — but not their account passwords — by U.S. Customs and Border Patrol. Though CBP already screens foreign travelers with in-person interviews and database checks, collecting social media accounts is specifically meant to track activity that could pose threats to “national security,” according to a proposal submitted by CBP and published in the Federal Register late last week.

“Collecting social media data will enhance the existing investigative process and provide DHS greater clarity and visibility to possible nefarious activity,” the proposal said.

The proposal indicates CBP recognizes the way individual attackers and extremist groups are using social media to spread terror. But some questioned whether it would be that effective, given visitors could choose to avoid divulging their social media handles.

FACEBOOK VOWS

Two recent mass shootings with connections to established terrorist groups – in San Bernardino and in Orlando, Fla. –   were at the hands of killers adept at using social media. The California attackers whose shooting rampage killed 14 posted messages of support to Islamic State on their social media profiles. Omar Mateen, whose massacre at a Orlando night club killed 49, pledged support to ISIS on Facebook.

Twitter, Facebook and other social media services have been criticized for allowing terrorists to spread their message and influence others on their platforms. The family of a victim of the Paris terrorist attacks in November sued Facebook, Google and Twitter, claiming the companies allowed the Islamic State to spread propaganda to attract and train new recruits and celebrate attacks.

The FBI reportedly asked pro hackers to crack San Bernardino iPhone

Facebook called the lawsuit without merit and said anyone can report terrorist accounts or content to the service. "We work aggressively to remove such content as soon as we become aware of it," a statement at the time read. Facebook did not respond to a request for comment for this article.

Twitter says users that promote terrorism are subject to permanent suspension from the platform.

"We condemn the use of Twitter to promote terrorism and the Twitter Rules make it clear that this type of behavior, or any violent threat, is not permitted on our service," read a Twitter statement.

The government has already called upon Silicon Valley to do more to filter out terrorists. Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., introduced a bill in December which would require tech companies to report online terrorist activity to law enforcement.

"We're in a new age where terrorist groups like ISIL are using social media to reinvent how they recruit and plot attacks," Feinstein said in a press release at the time. "That information can be the key to identifying and stopping terrorist recruitment or a terrorist attack, but we need the help from technology companies."

VW to pay owners up to $10K, buy back up to 475,000 diesel cars

WASHINGTON -- In what is being called a ground-breaking agreement, Volkswagen will pay $14.7 billion not only to compensate owners for its polluting "clean" diesel-powered cars, but for environmental mitigation and to set up a fund to promote zero-emissions technology, the government announced Tuesday.

Owners of the 475,000 Volkswagen vehicles with 2-liter diesels covered under the settlement will receive payments ranging from $5,100 to $10,000. In addition, Volkswagen will either repair their cars to bring them into compliance with emissions laws or buy them back in order to scrap them.

"We're getting polluting vehicles off the road," said EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy at a press conference. "We're holding VW accountable for this illegal pollution." She called it a "ground-breaking" settlement.

VW has admitted to inserting software in VW and Audi cars with 2-lliter engines going back to 2009 that allows them to beat emissions tests. Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates said that VW could face additional actions as well. A case is still pending against the automaker over its 3-liter diesel vehicles. Plus, she says the Justice Department is "aggressively" looking at possible criminal prosecutions.

In addition to more than $10 billion for the owners and the cars, VW will pay $2.7 billion in environmental mitigation and another $2 billion on clean-emissions technology. The total could climb even higher as other cases against VW, including one from states' attorneys general, come to conclusion.

In any case, 85% of the cars have be fixed or off the road by July, 2019.

Under the agreement, Volkswagen will buy back cars at prices tied to last September before the scandal became known and resale values plummeted. The automaker will not be allowed to ship them to other countries to avoid scrapping them. For those owners who elect to keep their cars, VW still hasn't disclosed how it will go about repairing them or how much their performance will be affected. Some may not be repairable.

The amount of the payment to owners, which would be in addition to the buyback price, will depend on a number of factors, such as type, age of the vehicle, number of miles and others. The goal, say those involved in crafting the agreement, was to make sure those who trade in aren't favored over those who elect to have their cars fixed.

Bomey reported from Washington and Woodyard from Los Angeles

Tourist's Lincoln Memorial National Anthem video goes viral

TALLAHASSEE — It's not exactly Marian Anderson singing in front of the Lincoln Memorial. But Star Swain's rendition of The Star-Spangled Banner at the national landmark was the sort of life-changing performance few who've heard it will soon forget.

Swain, a former Florida A&M Marching 100 trombonist and vocalist, has been thrust into the digital national spotlight after an impromptu a capella rendition of the National Anthem has gone viral, being viewed by millions on Facebook and other social media.

Swain, 34, said she and her family were in Washington, D.C., on vacation two weeks ago with Marcus Henderson, minister of music at her church, and his family, along with Godby High assistant principal Benny Bolden and his family.

They were inside the Lincoln Memorial, when and Henderson started talking about the superior acoustics inside the landmark.

“I said, ‘I could break out and start singing The Star-Spangled Banner,'" Swain recalled Monday. That was enough to get Henderson and Bolden to start urging her on.
At first, Swain said she was too nervous. When she started singing in front of other tourists, she didn’t realize Henderson had started videotaping. Unlike Anderson's historic 1939 concert performance, Swain's was apolitical and impromptu.

“I was in that moment. I just closed my eyes and started singing," she said, her voice still giddy with excitement. "Marcus was videotaping the whole time.”
She couldn't believe the response of the tourists who heard her sing.
“People just started saying, ‘That was awesome, thank you,’“ she said. “One lady had tears in her eyes. I was kind of glad it was over. It was like a sigh of relief.”
That was only the beginning. Later that day, the video was posted on YouTube. A few people saw it, but nothing spectacular. It wasn't until the following Monday that the world began to take notice.
“Someone put it up on their Facebook page, and the rest is history,” said Swain.
